Entoloma mougeotii is recognized by violet colours on hat and stem, scaly hat and fibrillose stem.

Up to 50 mm, clearly scaly. Dark violet to grey-violet.

Often with decurrent tooth, white to cream, then pink.

Ecology/Indicatorvalue:
Grows often in small groups in rich grasslands together with many other rare and red-listed fungi. It is a good indicator of rich localities and prefers calcareous ground. It is rare in Western Norway with relatively few findings.

Fructification in Norway: From beginning of July to beginning of October, mainly in August/September.
