(Clavulinopsis umbrinella) (G.F. Atkinson) Corner

Clavulinopsis umbrinella is one of two in this genus that has branched fruit bodies. The common species C. corniculata has yellow fruit bodies, while this has brownish. The spores of the two species are quite similar, almost triangular in shape and with a clear apiculus. The spore size is about 5μm.

 

 

Ecology/Indicator-value:

C. cineroides is relatively rare and in Hordaland County and has only a few discoveries in Western Norway. It is probably a good indicator of rich pastures.

 

Fructification in Norway: From beginning of August to beginning of November, mainly in September/October.
