Gloioxanthomyces vitellinus is a small, completely yellow waxcap with decurrent viscid gills, cap and stem. Grows often well hidden among ferns and other plants.

Ecology/Indicatorvalue: Hygrocybe vitellina is a rare waxcap and is only found in the outermost coastal parts of Western Norway, and probably has requirements for a mild climate and acidic rocks.

Fructification in Norway: From medio July to medio November, mainly in October.
