Hygrocybe aurantiosplendens is a
medium-sized yellow to orange waxcap with viscid to
dry cap and finely fibrillose stem often covered with fine white powder on
the top. |

H. chlorophana but it is more
yellow and more viscid/slimy. H. acutoconica but it normally
has a conical cap with an acute umbo. |

Ecology/Indicatorvalue: H. aurantiosplendens is quite rare
and is usually found in areas of high nature value
often on calcareous ground. Grows often together with other rare and redlisted grasslandfungi. Fructification in Norway: From end of July to medio November, mainly in September. |
