General information

This website is made based on my own registration of fungi in semi-natural grasslands in some municipalities in South-Western Norway from around 2000 until today. It provides a good overview of most of the species found in this region, and is, with some exceptions, limited to data from here. Most of the finds are new discoveries for the various municipalities. They have largely contributed to increased knowledge about the prevalence of these fungal groups in SW-Norway. Data on ecology is to some extent based on local conditions. Waxcaps (Hygrocybe) and earthtongues (Geoglossaceae) in particular are well covered with finds of quite a number of species, while the pinkgills (Entoloma) are poorly covered. Most of the species have their main distribution in ancient non-fertilized cultural landscapes. With the exception of a few species, all species are found in this district. Sandy earthtongue (Sabuloglossum arenarium) is not found in Hordaland County, and the image is from Sola in Rogaland County. The pictures of Geoglossum alpinum is from Lakselv, North Norway. All pictures except for a few are photographed by myself. Pictures of big blue pinkgill (Entoloma bloxamii) is by Asbjørn Knutsen, the arched waxcap (Hygrocybe citrinopallida) by Siv Moen, and the image of rose spindles (Clavaria rosea) by Bjørn Moe.

Use of the website
The website is more or less self-explanatory. It is customized for 17 inch and more screens, and the use of smaller screens will cause some offset of the screen.

To the left of the main page there is an overview of the main groups of fungi. By "clicking" on one of the pictures one comes up with an overview with small pictures of different species within each group. By clicking on the individual pictures here, an info sheet appears about the fungus in question. It contains, among other things: a simple description, red list status and link to the Norwegian
Mycological Database and "Artskart" that shows the distribution of the fungus in Norway.

The main page has links to simple descriptions of the various fungal groups and generally about fungi growing in the cultural landscape. These links connected to the name of the main groups and to the main header of the page.
In addition, a picture gallery shows a selection of pictures of the different species.
By clicking on the species name when one is in the picture gallery one gets to see the pictures in larger format.
The picture gallery can be accessed directly from the main page or from each info sheet of the different species.

The website is under development and some groups are not yet completed.
Comments and suggestions for further development are received with thanks
