Info
General information This website is made based on my own registration of
fungi in semi-natural grasslands in some municipalities in South-Western
Norway from around 2000 until today. It provides a good overview of most of
the species found in this region, and is, with some exceptions, limited to
data from here. Most of the finds are new discoveries for the various
municipalities. They have largely contributed to increased knowledge about
the prevalence of these fungal groups in SW-Norway. Data on ecology is to
some extent based on local conditions. Waxcaps (Hygrocybe) and
earthtongues (Geoglossaceae) in particular are well covered with finds of
quite a number of species, while the pinkgills (Entoloma) are poorly
covered. Most of the species have their main distribution in ancient
non-fertilized cultural landscapes. With the exception of a few species, all
species are found in this district. Sandy earthtongue (Sabuloglossum
arenarium) is not found in Hordaland County, and the image is from Sola
in Rogaland County. The pictures of Geoglossum alpinum is from Lakselv, North Norway. All pictures except for a few are
photographed by myself. Pictures of big blue pinkgill (Entoloma bloxamii)
is by Asbjørn Knutsen, the arched waxcap (Hygrocybe citrinopallida) by
Siv Moen, and the image of rose spindles (Clavaria rosea) by Bjørn
Moe. Use of the website The main page has links
to simple descriptions of the various fungal groups and generally about fungi
growing in the cultural landscape. These links connected to the name of the
main groups and to the main header of the page. The English version is made in 2019, and can contain
some mistakes. Per Fadnes Faculty of Education,
