(Clavaria greletii) Boud.
©Per Fadnes
Clavaria greletii has a blue-grey color and thallus can be somewhat inflated and twisted with indentations. The fruit bodies are 2-4 cm long often tapering towards the tip. C. greletii can initially remind you of an earthtongue, but nor color or stem fit. The earthtongues often have a clear defined stem, while in C. greletii it is difficult to separate the stem from the rest of the fruitbody. Microscopically, it
clearly differs from the earthtongues with its small ellipsoid spores with a
size of 8 x 6µm. Ecology/Indicatorvalue C. greletii usually grows in grasslands but can also be found in open areas in forests. In Rogaland County it was found in sandy dunes. C. greletii is seldom in Norway with only a few finds, and its idicatorvalue is unknown. It was found for the first time in Hordaland County in 2016 in the municipality of Stord which is the only finding in Western Norway besides the one in Rogaland. |
