Clavaria fumosa grows in
dense clusters and often becomes hollow when old. They have a grey-blue color
often with a bent tip. The individual fruit-bodies
are up to 10 cm long and 0.5 cm wide. |
Ecology/Indicatorvalue C. fumosa grows in unfertilized grassland often together with
other rare grasslandfungi. It does not come every year,
and it can take from two to five years each time it appears at the same site.
Fructification in Norway: From end of July to beginning of November, mainly
in August/September. |
