(Gliophorus laetus) (Pers.: Fr.) Herink

Gliophorus laetus is a relatively small  strongly viscid waxcap. It is orange-brown and has a characteristic gelatinized gill edge.

Characteristics:

Small up to 50mm, Orange-brown to orange with paler edge. Hygrophane, strongly viscid. Translucently  striate when wet.	Normally decurrent. White to grey/purplegrey Gelatinized gill edge.	Long, thin up to 60 mm. Cartilaginous. Same color as cap. Strongly vicid. Smells burnt rubber.	Gloioxanthomyces. vitellinus but this is more rare with more clear yellow colors.

Ecology/Indicatorvalue:

G. laetus is one of the most common waxcaps in grasslands and appear to be relatively tolerant to fertilization. It grows often together in clusters. It has no indicator value.

Fructification in Norway: From medio July to beginning of November, mainly in September/October.
