(Hygrocybe spadicea) (Scop.) P. Karst.

Hygrocybe spadicea is a relatively large clearly brown waxcap with characteristic yellow gills. The cap is radially fibrillose.

Characteristics:

Up to 80 mm, dry. First conical  later applanate  with umbo and lobes. Sometimes vicid in rain.	Free, clearly yellow to orange when old.	Up to 90 mm. Yellow. Longitudinally fibrillose with yellow colors.	None.

Ecology/Indicatorvalue:

H. spadicea is very rare and appears to have very irregular fructification from year to year. It grows on dry, south-facing, calcareous grasslands and is a southern species. It was found for the first time in Hordaland County in 2018.

Fructification in Norway: From medio July to beginning of November, mainly in August/September.
