Hygrocybe acutoconica normally has a cap with a distinct acute umbo. The stem is clearly fibrillose of the same color as the cap often with a white basis.
H. acutoconica belongs to the subgenus Hygrocybe. This group is characterized by regular tramacells, which means the cells in the gills have a size of 200-1000 µm or more. The spores are also particulary large - up to 14 µm. These are important microscopically features. |
