Hygrocybe substrangulata is almost identical to Hygrocybe miniata, but the wet habitat and the larger spores can give an indication of the right species

Orange-yellow convex later flattened

Dry and finely squamulose later almost smooth

Broadly adnate +/- shortly decurrent

Yellowish, broad and ventricose

 

Up to 40x4 mm,

Dry, smooth and matt

Colour as cap, cylindrical sometimes depressed

 

Hygrocybe miniata is very similar bit it does not grows wet and has smaller spores

 

Ecology Hygrocybe substrangulata grows on wet places sometimes in marshes.  It has few finds in Western Norway and in Sunnhordland it has been found in Tysnes municipality. These specimens were found Stolmen in Austevoll municipality.

Fructification in Norway: From beginning of  June to end of october, mainly in September/October.
