Clavaria fragilis consists of narrow tubular fruit bodies that grow in clusters. The fruit bodies are pointed at the end and the tip eventually turns yellow to brown with age.

Ecology/Indicatorvalue

C. fragilis usually grows in non-fertilized grasslands often on calcareous ground, but is not among the most demanding grasslandfungi.

It is relatively common and its indicatorvalue is likely to be limited.

The spores are ellipsoid, approx. 5x3µm

Fructification in Norway: From end of June to beginning of December, mainly in September.
